Hollywood A-listers back proposed standard
But what about the B-listers?
Are they going to have to toe the line? Hollywood might be their sole income source?
AI models can take your written work, they can take your voice, and they can even take your likeness to use for training material and for creating content that looks exactly like it came from you. Now, some actors are promoting a new licensing spec designed to protect their famous faces and yours too. The newly formed public …

But of course! They'll get $3.50 and a used Kleenex to clean themselves up with after contract negotiations. RDJ will get >$50m to play a man in a mask, at least until Disney figures out that an AI-nimation of a man in a mask is a lot cheaper, and doesn't require a personal luxury trailer park on set. I'm kinda looking forward to Doom. Won't be watching it, other than to see how much of a trainwreck & bomb it becomes.
But the A-listers seem to be pricing themselves out of the market, at least based on box office performance. If AI continues to develop, all that's neeed is to create AI lookalikes and soundalikes that are similar, but different enough to the 'stars', and not put the star's names on in the credits. But with Hollywood making bombs, and indies like Markiplier making bank, both A and B-listers might want to think about fleeing the Hollywood system and focusing on indie productions. Would mean a pay cut, but pay isn't sustainable.. Especially when 'stars' are being digitally de-aged or transplanted onto doubles.. and with a succession of flops, Hollywood may realise that stars don't really have star power anymore, and using more AI might actually save/make some money.
I wish I could remember the name of an SF story that had digitally resurrected stars like Cagney and Monroe grumbling about how their ghosts were being exploited.. Written decades ago, but rather prophetic.
