back to article C++ survey finds AI use rising, though trust is in short supply

The Standard C++ Foundation's annual developer survey shows AI use among C++ programmers is rising fast, though mistrust and resistance remain stubbornly high. The poll, billed as a “10-minute survey to help inform C++ standardization and C++ tool vendors,” drew 1,434 respondents, 38 percent more than last year. It likely …

      Yep. Sadly the author buffoonly used the word "stubbornly" right out of the gate. Reluctant was the correct word and is the correct feeling for AI in OOP.

      A sentiment for at least OOP debuging is that you have to be a practioner to understand the practices. Current "AI" can't reliably be even 1 half of that.

      Given AI spits out bad code given decent pure functional examples across the net, AI will spit out REALLY bad examples given the very poor inheritance examples across the net.

      Imagine debugging pure AI C++...

    If AI could grok an arbitrary corpus of C++ code.

    It would really possess a unique form of intelligence of a particularly dark nature I should think - more at home in the Palantir stable I imagine. Of course it cannot.

    The future is sufficiently grim without having to worry about who or what, 30 years hence, is going to maintain oceans of C++ code that critical systems depend on.
