I never thought I'd be misty eyed for the days of marshalling a team of several dozen people distributed across the Indian sub-continent. But the bleak AI future has done it. Despite my occasional misanthropic tendencies, it turns out I actually prefer human beings.

I think in the long run, the current generation of massive LLM hardware based AI won’t turn out to be cheaper than disposable people in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, and Pune … etc.

Not great for (former IT, customer service, support and business process) people in outsourcing counties (USA, Canada, Europe) as opposed to the countries to be outsourced to (India, Philippines).

AI slop code in some cases might be better than AI (Actual Indian) cut'n'paste spaghetti, but it's sure as hell not going to be cheaper once they have to start paying the real cost of tokens.
