Oh I'm really sorry, but the pedant in me can't let this pass...
<pedant>
three Windows 10 desktops suggest all is not well behind the scenes.
One Windows 10 desktop, 3 monitors.

Sorry.
You might say this bork was bread to fail, but at least it involves a version of Windows that most people actually like. Snapped by Reg reader Chris Paxton in Ontario, Canada, today's example of signage gone wrong was spotted in a bakery. Where customers might expect a display extolling the virtues of the baked goods on offer …
I was in a branch of Halifax (bank) the other day and their four screens was showing the desktop. One single desktop, split in quarters over four screens.
"Snap it and share it?", I thought to myself, "Nahh. One, I do not want to make a fool of myself. Two, the bank would be right to question me about it. Three, asking for permission was more effort than it was worth. Four, El Reg sadly no longer holds that special in my heart".
Do they permit francophone baguettes in Ontario ?
I had the impression - admitted mostly drawn from "Letterkenny" - that Ontario wasn't deficient in red neckery with some antipathy towards Canada's centrally imposed francophone accommodation.
Somehow I cannot visualise Wayne or Shoresy with a sub. loaf shoved down their trousers.

I hate those places that have displays showing a menu that switch to a different page before you have had a chance to get through half of the page... that might explain the recent demise of Leon!
That extends to Network Rail's 3-line displays that insist on wasting 2 lines to display a cancelled train that will no longer be stopping at Abergavenny, Belfast, Coventry, Dover Central, Eton & Windsor Riverside, Finsbury Park... while the 3rd line switches between the real next train and a message about the delights of next weekend's rail replacement bus service
DisplayPort daisy-chaining is supported and works well. You don't need a Quadro card, although you might if you wanted very high resolution and refresh rate screens i suppose. I've seen an array of nine 1080p monitors work from a three-output card. In theory you can chain four monitors at 1080p/60Hz, for 12 screens off 3 outputs
> Today's bork is a reminder that modern technology, for all its excitement, can sometimes wilt in comparison to the past.
Windows doesn't belong on such a system. An embedded real-time operating system would do the job and not bork out. Such as VxWorks from “Wind River”.
VxWorks, probably yes with a lot of effort but I wouldn't take the contract.
But Linux, definitely. And if done right it is far more embeddable than Windows, and almost as deterministic as VxWorks or Zephyr, as long as you get rid of things like systemd
I went on a 3 day training course with Wind River once and hated their software so much that I persuaded my boss to go with Linux instead. The application was an EtherCAT robot control system that required a low-jitter 4kHz control loop
I guess when they saw the failure, they felt a bit sourdough..... so they went to Warburton with the system.
Thankfully, there was a verry Hovisous solution, and when they fixed it they felt very Sunblest.
It's good they take Mothers Pride in their work.
*do I get a medal for use of archaic UK brands?
