    First action ...

get rid of the Plantir contract or at least ensuring that it will not be renewed.

The MOD's dependency on the USA is dangerous. We should work closer with other Europeans.

Commercial acumen is code for signing more contracts with Palantir and Azure/AWS/Google after being schmoozed by their sales people with fine wine and dining.

    Corruption

    Stinks of bribery and corruption.

As of now, no free stuff from companies and that includes wining and dining.

And if it's made in the USA treat it with as much suspicion as anything from China. More so in fact, due to the current U.S. administration who is an unreliable ally.

£300,000 salary... Hmmm so after tax that's £170,786.35

That kinda sucks doesn't it?. Especially because of the kind of shit you will have to deal with and the government takes nearly half of it away, while U.S. companies offer all expenses paid trips to checkout their new shiny shiny. See where this is going. You too could become a VP of x.inc when you get bored with the MOD low pay. We can help you out there... But first how many of those items do you want to buy?

A staff of 3000 you say and I'm getting £170K take home.

    You're having a laugh...

The sales people pitching to this person probably make a lot more.
