    So, this was the one attack that the people in charge are reasonably confident has been detected and thwarted.

    If I don't get my state-sponsored groups confused, Salt Typhoon are not known for single, small-scale attacks.

    It would be interesting to know how many telcos use similar hardware with the same vulnerabilities but less attentive/lucky IT people.

    and yet Governments want us to disable encryption

    I have no doubt the Government will introduce restrictions on what ISP Review refers to as XXXs, not least to ban remote working for teenagers. At the same time, we have state-sponsored hackers breaching our comms infrastructure monitoring our traffic.
