Sounds like a great plan! I'm sure few thousand folks will soon be automating bots to create social media profiles, post all kinds of text and generated images making it look like they are immigrants with lapsed documentation, with foreign-sounding names, random (real) addresses, etc. A few dozen ICE raids on American families should help Trump's approval rating tremendously...
There are several ways to screw with them. One, direct them to an innocent Trump supporter's house, and watch the blowback when they go in full force like they did in that Chicago apartment building. Two, direct them to Trump donating employers who don't (as far as you know) have any illegal immigrants working there, but bonus points if you know they do and their business will be seriously impaired from losing them. Three, direct them to abandoned buildings and such so you waste their time.
I think it is a bad idea for the government to be using the internet as a tool like this. I believe there is something in the constitution about not doing that.

If someone is breaking down my door unannounced, they will be met with the same force. I will protect my family. Many have lost their lives due to swatting. As a human being you should reconsider recommending such actions.
Yet when ICE broke down people's doors in Chicago a few days ago, raiding an ENTIRE APARTMENT BUILDING because they claimed there were some illegal immigrants living there, cuffing and dragging outside them and US citizens alike, holding them for hours before release, I haven't heard a peep of protest from the maximum gun rights "I protect my castle" people on the right. If they met ICE with that force they would be gunned down, and Trump would use that as an excuse to send the Marines into Chicago.
In fact I think the level of force ICE is displaying in major cities is INTENDED to provoke a response that gives him an excuse for sending in the military. And everyone who voted for Trump despite ample warning is 100% responsible for every such action he takes.
If they have employed the kind of simps who post things saying that because youtube/reddit/facebook/etc are "American websites" it therefore follows that all of the users are American then they're going to spend a lot of time trying to track down so-called illegal immigrants who aren't actually in the country and may never have even passed through on the way somewhere else.
That'll keep them very busy; they'll never find Klaus in Berlin because they won't even know which of the 26 US towns he lives in.

How do digital IDs that are only given to UK citizens and legal residents ensure that all illegals can be found? Is the app going to emit an ultrasonic tone and you have to look for the deadzone?
No need to get that fancy. Last time around, ID cards were pitched on the premise that it would somehow make the things we do now more convenient. Then creeping compulsion to make ID required to do more things that we do now without one. So then you have lots of opportunities to detect those 'deadzones' via phone and ID app. No ID? Must be a wrong'un and generate a SAR (Suspicious Activity Report) that goes to the nearest officer. Or just 'random' stop & searches with demands to show ID with all the problems that's created before with racial profiling and sus profiling.
We'll get more info, and reasons for concern once implementation details are given. Like how the app works, and how it communicates to anyone needing/wanting to perform an ID check. So if it'll use NFC, Bluetooth or just display a QR code that can be read. But that also means everywhere that does an ID check needs some method to verify that ID. Which might mean having to enable stuff like Bluetooth or location 'services' that I normally disable to extend battery life.

Lots of people are not very technologically savvy and post stuff they shouldn't on the socials (see: various criminals and hooligans busted via social media posts). It's kind of amazing that ICE hasn't done this already. I'm sure there's some low-hanging fruit out there.

Considering the massive boost to ICE funds and a massive recruitment drive, I suspect there is very little background checks or training for these new recruits. So I expect there will be proportion of "challenged" individuals in their ranks who know little more about the job and the law than a chimpanzee.
My guess on the methodology: Incredibly pernicious hack job by ICE, probably conducted using some sort of AI slop generator or search. Certainly not going to cause any false positives... Or now that I think about it: false positives and arbitrary deportations are a feature, and a desired one at that.

Dean Cain from Lois and Clark, I loved that show. He was one of the best Supermans. And Kesley Grammar ruining the image of Frasier for his love of Trump. Mel Gibson (yes I know he's also a racist), Buzz Aldrin, Dennis Quaid, James Wood to name but a few.
This is not a new phenomenon. It is rare for entertainers - and still less for the entertainment industry - to speak out against either popular sentiment or political power, especially if it might cost them their jobs. Don't expect them to be any more likely defend their professional colleagues than anyone else - and they're as likely as anyone else to actually believe the nonsense du jour.
The evidence is that not only did Hollywood collaborate in the oppression of those considered "Un-American" at the height of McCarthyism, but that some of those affected were still struggling to get work, or to get credit for their pseudonymous work, many decades later. These "temporary" aberrations can have lifelong consequences. Of course, back in the 50s, people weren't being threatened with deportation, but many were obliged to leave the country in any case to find work.
I've a neighbor, quite old. She was born in South America and married a US person. They had some kids, I think all born & raised in South America. She routinely stays for months at a time abroad. She speaks no english. I mean zero. They are rabid trumpers. I've considered calling into ICE and saying I've got a suspicious person who speaks no english as a neighbor. It truly makes no sense to me how they can be trumpers. Especially given they were born abroad and with trump's latest not born in the us to a pair of us citizens, I can revoke your citizenship thing, I'd think they might worry a bit about deportation. Especially mom, speaking zero english. It would be like Jewish people supporting the 3rd reich. Maybe they did, but would be just stupid.
While checking Google + ICE should also check those Myspace and Friends reunited accounts just in case. There might be a gold mine of information on there.
