Intel has reportedly sought an investment from rival chipmaker TSMC. Its not as mad as it sounds. Many years ago, IBM wanted Intel's help to be less reliant on Intel as a single vendor. Thus AMD was born.

Reported elsewhere they apparently also asked Apple for investment. Maybe to build iPhones with manly power-consuming Intel chips instead of woke Apple/Arm processors for the US market.

I've never come across any information that accurately informs the public why Intel has struggled so much with process node improvements over the last few years.

What's really going on inside Intel's new fabs?

And is all this extra money going to help fix the problems in a timely manner?
