English is a %$#@!-ed language and while some syntax habits are widely used, I can't even read all Brit (and Brits complain about my Missouri slang) and 2/3 of the word isn't from any English Empire. Spammers, hotel staff, and even honorable guests may have odd variants of the language, and be unsure of deviations.
