Recognise? Who you calling suspicious???
> hotels should train staff to recognise suspicious emails
The average hotel staff is no brighter than a computer, at least for text parsing. But if they said "email gateways should be programmed to recognise suspicious emails", that would sound unlikely. Sure we have tried... for about 20 years. Usta be "$$$" would be flagged, but scammers grew past that phase right quick. Missspellled words used to be a hint, but lately my spam is clean. I have a run of spam from 'AAA' and 'Ace Hardware' (not) which are fault-free and nearly idiomatic, like off-shore or artificial helpers helped.
English is a %$#@!-ed language and while some syntax habits are widely used, I can't even read all Brit (and Brits complain about my Missouri slang) and 2/3 of the word isn't from any English Empire. Spammers, hotel staff, and even honorable guests may have odd variants of the language, and be unsure of deviations.
