    Existing installs will support them until they find alternative maintainer

    The unifi protect system albeit dearer has a better front end for sme end users and the recently released unvr a real alternative for a swap out with onvif support for a slow replacement of thecameras as they fail

      In August 2018 the U.S. government, as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for fiscal year 2019, banned the use of certain Chinese video surveillance technology, including that from Hikvision and Dahua, for federal government agencies and government-funded contracts. This was due to national security concerns. There have been multiple countries following that trend since.

      Many of us saw the writing on the wall when support and drivers dried up.

      Unifi is far cheaper than Hikvision and we swapped over last year.
