The US scraping the bottom of the barrel
Unable to bring a decent case against Huawei (in spite of its best efforts - including a sting operation by the FBI), the US decided to re-open previously settled civil cases.
The Meng case was scandalous in itself with key Canadian officials suddenly suffering 'memory loss' and the US trying to prevent keys slides from Meng's famous PowerPoint presentation from being revealed during the extradition process. Slides that made it clear the HSBC was aware of its dealings.
Ah, those Iran sanctions! Unilaterally imposed and with basically no one supporting them.
HSBC previously got slapped with a fine but Huawei must be destroyed! LOL.
Laughable in the extreme. Even way back in 2010/11, when the original US legal attack included a company that just happened to have the word 'Huawei' in its name but was totally unrelated to Huawei!
Real Keystone Cops stuff.
