back to article HPE finally closes Juniper deal, but offers no details on what happens next

HPE has completed its takeover of Juniper Networks, but the conjoined pair isn't yet ready to discuss details about how the networking business will fit into HPE's existing lineup alongside Aruba. This lack of detail comes despite the fact that it's been 18 months since HPE announced the Juniper buy, in a deal said to be worth …

I'll tell you what happens next...

    1. All the good people who haven't already left both HPE and Juniper stampede for the exit.

    2. Both sides of the business announce redundancies.

    3. The combined product line gets slashed to concentrate on the highest profit models.

    4. Bonuses all round for the C-suite.

    5. Profit?

What is likely to happen, regardless, is layoffs until the community stops thinking 'free' means something other than it thinks it does.

ProCurve, 3COM, Aruba, and now Juniper. They'll get it right some day.

Doubt they will get it right unless they actually really revert the actual date and time in the DeLorian to 1999 in time for Sauris to teach us all that fiction is not real, or, alternately, at least that evidence-based research shows that tech does not scale the way, let's admit it, we ALL wanted it to before the DotCom crash.

    Let me guess

Now the real work can begin, but the companies were tight-lipped about what happens next. Rami Rahim, former CEO of Juniper and now the lead of the combined HPE Networking business...

Mass redundancies, ever more AI bullshit, followed by outsourcing to the CEO's home country.

But in good news this apparently means that HP networking equipment is now secure!!

"Combination accelerates HPE’s strategic vision with a full, secure networking IP stack"
