back to article Microsoft patches the patch that can brick Surface Hub v1 screens

Microsoft has released an out-of-band update to deal with a Surface Hub problem introduced with June's Patch Tuesday fixes. The problem arrived in KB5060533 for Windows 10 21H2 and 22H2 and left several Surface Hub v1 devices stuck with a start failure. Getting boring now

too common to read crap like this

More AI in M$ and more Patch errors.... coincidence ?

Ignorance is bliss - Aren't they

Just big old touch screens with a PC strapped on the back ? surely a wipe of the HDD and then a reimage will get them working for the next few months

Ignorance: I have no idea if they are a big old strapping screen with a PC bolted on the back or something far more complex. Be surprised if it is more complex incase of HDD failure and the need to swap

I've given up -this update is now causing problem with my AMD radeon video drivers, and causes the system to just crash - no blue screen - just crash

Sick of windows - suspended all updates now for 5 weeks, and will refresh that when it gets closer to KB5060533 being installed again.

I thought I'd cracked the problem by just doing a restore of windows in windows itself - didn't work

So again MS - your software sucks, and I'm fed up to the back teeth, with all the issues 24H2 and all the subsequent updates have caused, with my Tower system, which has more than enough capabilities to run this farce version of the OS.

“…questions remain over how such a critical flaw made it through testing.”

Sorry, what is this ‘testing’ of which you speak?

Unless it consisted on “Copilot, is this code all good to go?” “Yes you say? Right push it out and we can move on!”

They should take their hand off it.

    Really?

They didn't test it on their own hardware?

    What's testing?

It’s testing Jim, but not as we know it

  10. Uh, Mike

I laugh at their, "Limited number of devices," ploy.

Of course there's a terrestrial limit on the number of devices.
