back to article SiPearl ships reference node design for Rhea1 high-spec Arm chip

Euro chip designer SiPearl has released a reference server design featuring its Rhea1 processor, the chip that powers Jupiter, Europe's most powerful supercomputer. The Seine Reference Server can be used for validation and testing, software development and porting, and demonstrations and customer evaluation, the company says …

    Finally!!!

Good to see that Rhea1 is closer to some form of release than it's been so far (feels like a long time since last year, and even longer since two years ago).

I like that it's socketed (rather than soldered-on like many ARMs) and hopefully we'll get to see a real one soon (rather than CGI). The bulk of computational oomph in JUPITER is gonna remain GH200 as far as I understand it, but Rhea1 is important for long-term sovereignty iiuc (eg. SiPearl mentions "kill switch-free security" on its web page).

I hope they get solid HPC, datacenter, and AI contracts going forward!
