The Sums really are mostly bollocks.
We're investing X in so and so
But how much money is actually being spent in the USA? How many full time jobs will it create?
Are the people there to employ?
If I set a car factory in the USA and say "Look I'm "investing" a billion in the USA"
Just ignore it's employing a just a few people on minimum wage, and we'll be buying all the robots from Japan, the lighting from Canada, the paint from France, the assembly line from Korea, the steel from China."
Oh you want us to use everything from the USA? No problem, the small car will now cost $100,000.

People complaining about investing in the USA
There are massive investements on US soil and the above commentards complain, are you people mad ?
If life is so bad there why not choose another country to live in, seriously why remain in a country that you hate ? I have lived and worked in several countries and never would I remain in a country that I disliked as much as you apear to, so what is your motivation for remaining ? If you don't like a place then simply move on, it's actually not that difficult unless of course you are acutally not serious and are actually more than happy to virtue signal rather than actually take responsabality for your lifes..

Re: People complaining about investing in the USA
For context you 're saying it's wrong to have a whinge that these guys can piddle out billions to curry favor, meanwhile our very roads are falling apart; healthcare is a binary between bankruptcy and avoiding it to dodge bankruptcy; cities, counties, and states beg and wheedle and squeeze for hundreds of thousands of dollars or a few million to please, for fucks sake, replace the lead pipes, trench vital telecom infrastructure, set up health clinics, and pay teachers more than 1.5x poverty wages.
Ah well. Maybe you can just sell your home to the next 'pro-business' guy at a nice little discount and live under a bridge to show your dedication to the welfare of your party? No?

Unions? Mate, I'm a rare native to Florida who can spell their name without help, so I know for a fact "unions" aren't the culprit here.
The roads suck shit even in spite of the state actively enforcing against unions. The only unions in recent history here all vocalized strong support for MoRon Desantis and other culture warriors sticking it to the dirty wokes (other workers).
As for military budgets: Remind me what party's candidate was standing on a carrier in 2003 yapping about 'mission accomplished' after starting a two front "nation building operation?"
If you cannot accept that everyone has their hands in this mess you cannot resolve it.

"Today's announcement is a direct result of President Trump's leadership and his vision to bring back high-paying manufacturing jobs and reestablish secure, domestic supply chains for critical technologies," GlobalFoundries Executive Chairman Thomas Caulfield said
... before stepping into his executive bathroom and gargling with concentrated lye.

Everytime ..
someone gives his lunch money to a bully it encourages the bully and more bullies to do the same. Trump is an abomination. We all know , he's the worst diplomat ever. We all know he's always lying and TACO. He's mentally challenged and everyday if anyone listens to him more than 5 seconds we can all see he's lost his mind completely. Other people are pulling the strings in the background and these people at the moment play the cards the worst way possible for the world economy. But Trump and his syndicate don't care about anyone but Trump . They're narcissists and do not understand a few world economy and diplomacy basics. " Hey , I am MR Big , the big deal maker , i am the biggest , the best , best ever " meanwhile in the shadows he's cutting medicare and access to basic medecine to millions , even his senators are going " we all got to die of something " as justification to cut medical help. Food stamps for the needy , the people in trouble , access to abortion cut off in case a Mom needs a lifesaving emergency adoption. No more , they can all die .. " hey , no problem : we all got to die of something " That's their level . That's how low they are sinking. Even Musk is turning his back on his old boss and saying the budget is bad. Politics are bad , economy is bad and the situation on the ground is appalling .. and oh yes his new nomination to the head of FEMA ( federal emergency management ) was surprised to know there's a hurricane season. Going on and on .. Please read the papers coming from the USA .. this deal is a farce. It's a squirrel to take the attention away of what really goes on. Couple billions is nothing in the semiconductor world and should not be seen as a major gain when countless millions are left to die without reasons other than to finance his tax breaks for the ultra rich. Really .. this is a fart in the ocean. Trump remains and wiull remain the worst president in the history of the USA. His legacy is one of death and destruction. Noone should give in to the bully , he's making an example to others " hey X gave me their lunch money , you will too " Time to leave the USA to rot in their cess pool. Maybe next election they will be bothered to go out and vote him out. Until then , making deals with Trump or the USA should be off the table for everyone. It's doing the US citizens a favor.
