We are looking at Oracle Graph Server (and Graph Functions in 23c if they ever deign to sell it to humans) also because of Neo4J costs but that does require recoding our application queries.

That alone should tell you how obscenely, obnoxiously expensive Neo4j quotes their licenses.

Our [multibillion revenue national e-commerce] org went through a month and a half of demos, use case discussion, and requirements clarification with their sales team only to get absolutely gobsmacked by a quote they handed us at the end which both completely ignored our stated budget and belied an insistence that the Lexus they were trying to sell us was actually a low-end Ferrari and not a high-end version of a free Toyota.
