back to article Admission impossible: NSA, CISA brass absent from RSA Conf

There's a notable absence from this year's RSA Conference that kicked off today in San Francisco: The NSA's State of the Hack panel. The annual talk by current and former chiefs of Uncle Sam's surveillance super-agency is a favorite among the cybersecurity conference's attendees and is always filled to capacity with a waiting …

    USA spring 2025 / USSR spring 1990

The collapse of the government structures of the USA in 2025 remind me of the collapse of the USSR in 1989/1990.

It is fascinating, deer in headlights style, how quickly the whole edifices of the USA federal structures fall apart without any resistance.

Even simply talking at public meetings, that is, informing the public, has become "impossible", a reason for getting fired or jailed. People who proclaimed "Live free Or die" just keep quiet.

While Russians in the 1990s got for a short time a taste of freedom, Americans in 2025 get a taste of dictatorship.

The little voices sometimes steer me right ...

I decided to sit this year's conference out for the first time in ... well, ever (I was at the Hotel Sofitel in Redwood City in '91, haven't missed a West Coast event since).

Not being shoveled a ration of shit during the keynote from the always lying Puppy Killer Barbie makes missing it all worthwhile.
