"in contravention of standard operating procedures"
Trump's administration has no idea what standard operating procedures are, nor why they are important.
The orange baboon only knows what wall it wants to throw its shit at.
Democratic lawmakers are calling for an investigation after a tech staffer at the US National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) blew the whistle on the cost-trimming DOGE's activities at the employment watchdog – which the staffer claims included being granted superuser status in contravention of standard operating procedures, …
I mean, Incompetence and Nefarious Intent are only possible explanations.
They're not mutually exclusive.
A third strong possibility: He's not really the one in control. All this means that is whoever is pulling the strings is either stupid or evil, or both.
Most likely possibility: the person(s) pulling the strings is nefarious, but all that experience playing people off against each other on reality TV has taught him to throw up a very impressive smoke screen that keeps enemies off balance. He's also petty and self-centered, and throwing his personal vendettas into the mix, creates even more confusion.
We're being charitable when we assume incompetence. Stop being charitable and face the truth. We're being played.
What of Tumps many actions does Russia not like?
Split US & Europe
Europe will no longer buy US wepons
Gettting the world to look to an alternatve to the USD as the reserve currance of the world
Destroying the US universities
Turnning off Voice of America
Anything to do with Ukraine
Saying he will take over another country by force
Stopping USAID / influence in the world
It's also possibly the one good thing to come out of this shit show. After WWII, the US has actively fostered a Europe dependant on the USA. That makes two reasons for Trump to hate the EU. He thinks the EU are "freeloaders" for doing what the US effectively forced on them, and now they are so closely allied, it makes the EU much more of an equal to the USA and mostly speaks with one voice instead of lots of smaller nations he can bully. (Although this latter may be debatable since of Trump wanted to bully the "little guy" why would he pick a fight with *everyone* in the playground at the same time?
They are perfectly concealed, they will never find them...
English doesn't really have a wide selection of words for different types of coup. A self-coup is staying in power after being voted out and we saw an attempt at one 2021-01-06. It was too little, too late and hamstrung by lack of competent people. At about that time planning started on the next self-coup. This time the people knew how to plan and had four years to find and train people to do the work. Implementation started 2025-01-20 with 26 executive orders that day. Technically the next self-coup cannot start until 2029-01-20 when the next president should be sworn in. In reality, the coup is effectively complete and what we are seeing now is some extra layers of concrete being poured over the grave of US democracy.
If you look at the definition of self-coup it includes "The leader may dissolve or render powerless the national legislature and unlawfully assume extraordinary powers" so it's started.
This article argues "A self-coup is when someone who is already the executive tries to dramatically increase their power at the expense of other government actors, also illegally" and "Verdict: Self coup, in-progress, success still unknown".
Much as I love to hear of DOdGEy goings-on, it does seem a bit of a feeble attempt to login directly from home; doesn't Russian Youtube get all those adverts for NordVPN?
Unless, unless - it was all a feint and the successful login from Ivan's Washington office was made within eight minutes of the account going live?
Why would a DOGE employee use a VPN?
1) Perhaps you are getting paid well and don't want to wreck your career by quitting DOGE, but would really prefer not to be directly implicated in what you're pretty sure is going to be an absolute dumpster fire.
2) You're torrenting videos from your work computer and running a VPN because of that
...and you get a great discount on this Russian VPN software through your work contacts...
Trump administration shutters US office countering foreign disinformation
Pentagon’s ‘SWAT team of nerds’ resigns en masse
All forms of defence against online Russian attacks are being neutered by Doge and ways into government systems are being facilitates by Doge. It's difficult to see how Putin could have done any better himself.
I think it's been said here before, but the only competent person Trump employed was Stormy Daniels. And according to something or other--I read it on the Internet so it must be true--most who voted for Trump would vote for him again. But worse than him are the GOP senators who make it all possible--and Trumptards would probably vote for them again.
Unlike the wars on poverty and terrorism the GOP war on education was successful--as Trump said, he loves uneducated people, that's how the GOP stay in power. And so far, it seems that they';re getting away with it--as for any Trumptards reading this who will say what about when Biden---he should have done what Trump's doing to Fox news and Joe Rogan. So go ahead and touch yourselves while watching either one of them. You're beneath contempt--at least in Nixon's and even Reagon's time, you had some shame.
Joe Rogan Debates Himself: Immigration and Border (6 mins)
Joe Rogan’s view on immigration and the border have shifted a LOT over time. Watch as Joe Rogan debates himself, revealing the contradictions, hypocrisy, and unexpected shifts in his views.
Since the end of Aparthide the South African govenment has successfully been on a mission to keep the population uneducated. Many stories of budget cuts, truckloads of free books destined for schools dumped in landfill, cutting teachers wages etc. etc. and it worked. 75 million people and only about 0.3% have any formal education. Just take a look at the minister for Education and she is a prime example of what the system did.
If it can work for Zuma (shiny dickhead) it can work for the Orange dickhead.
The whistleblower was left a threatening letter taped to his front door. Detail in the letter intended to scare him was recently updated information which should have been only available from a government database like OPM. IOW threat came from government insider. But with OPM's history and other recent DOGEy events, this info may very well be found outside government.
He states he is hoping others like him in other agencies visited by DOGE come forward as well. Apparently, his lawyer has uncovered information that there are others who have witnessed similar activity at other agencies when DOGE paid a visit.
I do not know for sure, but as a user I experienced something I thought was odd at usps.gov. It was in the timeframe DOGE was invited by former postmaster general Louis DeJoy to review the USPS efficiency just prior to DeJoy's stepping down from the job. I was attempting to login to usps.gov when I recieved an odd message, "their MFA was not working". I expected the login to fail, but no, the login succeded without MFA (TOTP is configured on my account). I had sent a message complaining about allowing account logins when MFA was not working. I cannot remember for sure, but I think it happened again a few days later. Was this caused by DOGE?
The democratic party of the United States was so unable or so _unwilling_ to find a viable, non-sock puppet, non-infirm, non-criminal candidate that they insisted on running Alzheimer's patient Biden against Trump. (Then at the last minute replacing him with some other unknown and irrelevant candidate. yeah yeah.)
This is really a race to the bottom. Literally *anyone*, _except_ the Democratic nominees, would have been better than Trump. As evidence of that: their nominated candidates are *so* bad that they've lost to **TRUMP**. TWICE. If it's so hard to win against _Trump_, then you can clearly blame the democrats for their god-awful nominees.
This hasn't been a Trump problem (it is now), it's been a Democratic Party problem.
-
Example: The democratic party shanked the slam-dunk win of 2016 (Bernie) and put in place a candidate who has a denotation, Klinton Kill Kount. (Any reporter that investigates the family ends up dead.) Great candidate, there, with that single-issue platform as well. (Woman for President! Yeah!) 2020's placement of the sock-puppet Biden, who just signs whatever, and does whatever the party tells him - without thought, or understanding of what he's doing, further entrenching the shadow government - where the candidate literally can't even *move* at important times, let alone be a president.
When these are the best candidates that this political party can find, it becomes understandable how the American people can't choose properly.
There is a deeper problem: Only two political parties. And a system in place to prevent new parties from forming. While I don't like a specific political party in Germany gaining more members, I still prefer our system where new parties can actually from, and not only extreme right or left, also quite a number closer to the center.
PS: Why as AC? Are you afraid to voice your freedom of speech and expression so you HAVE to do it as AC? Has it gone this far? Looking around the country I suspect you are from I cannot really blame you, but this feels soooo weird.
