The people ransoming hospitals are scum and should be made to use Windows Vista for ever. If we wanted to be lenient then we could let them off with merely hanging, drawing and quartering them...

I seem to recall Vermin Heathcare sued the NHS a few years ago after not getting the contracts they wanted. (Looked it up, was back in 2017 and ended up with a settlement from the NHS).

Beardy Branston Pickle didn't do himself any favours with that one.

One day some big company is literally going to hire hitmen to kill one of these groups, no matter what country they are in. Ruin the CEOs performance bonus this year? he got a bit angry and he's rich.....

And it'll make ransomware groups think twice about what they're doing.

Or the US will throw bomb/sword drones at them and their families for "national security" since these scammers are literally terrorists and in the eyes of the US valid targets just as much as ISIS.

A lot of this ransomware, etc originates from Putin's Russia and he allows the hackers there free reign to disrupt Western democracies. The sooner he 'accidentally' falls from a Kremlin parapet wall, the better.

Some may consider such events would be worthy of other high profile world leaders, given the current batch.

Oh, come on Donald, just because you're a narcissistic demagogue doesn't mean you have to down vote me.

Malware gangs fit the criteria for terrorism and we should respond accordingly.

I seem to recall Virgin used to run clap clinics, HIV tests etc., so data releases could be a bit more of a problem than changing your debit card.

    It's a bargain...

... probably less expensive than shoveling cash to Branson's tax haven for use of the branding.
