back to article Huawei revenue growing fast, suggesting China's scoffing at sanctions

Huawei chair Liang Hua last week told a conference in China that the company expects to meet its revenue targets for 2024, meaning it earned around ¥860 billion ($118.25 billion) – 22 percent growth compared to its 2023 result. A Chinese outlet called Shenzen Business Daily reported Hua’s remarks, quoting the exec as saying …

Funny how sanctioned economies - China and Russia - are powering ahead of economies in the West.

Maybe they should rethink the sanctions?

Yeah, the Ruble lost half its value after the cowardly annexation of Crimea (2014), and another 30% of its value after the yellow-bellied attempt at invading the remainder of Ukraine (2022).

The Ruble is currently worth one cent ($1 gets you 100 Rubles) whereas it was worth 4 cents in 2007 ($1 got you 25 Rubles then).

The Ruble is powering itself into rubbles!

      NATO

Good remark : 30 (well, 34 now) years ago, with the end of the URSS, US and NATO should have declared victory of the cold war, and dismembered the NATO. They could have converted all the armament factories to produce industrial goods. But instead, they kept the arms industry and outsourced industrial manufacturing, mostly to China. And this despite a former US president (Eisenhower) having warned about he Military-Industrial-Complex.

And now the chickens comm home to roost. But president Elon is going to fix that, right after Starship has put a banana into orbit.

I must say I find this quite entertaining. I just hope we have enough popcorn

Thailand camps where criminals enslave people to run cyber-scams?

I guess there's a reason they don't raid them (the kingpins won't be there) so maybe cutting off power and internet is the best solution. Only problem is there are ways around that like battery backed solar power and cellular or satellite internet...

NOT a developing country so remove their benefits

"China to launch 'moon hopper' in 2026"

Yes China STILL classes themselves as a developing country so gain benefits and the world ignores this clear scam.

Yep. I think they get other benefits as well and I never knew its the country themselves that can declare themselves "developing" and oddly, no one bothers to tell China "No you're fucking not, so no you can't have those benefits". I'm assuming they let them get away with it because they are ordering the cheap shit.
