Political 1st gen "taking responsibility": Leave and let others clean up the mess you left behind.

Does it mean that Russians are seriously considering moving to another planet?

They won't be that unrealistic expecting this within the current millennia.

First they need to be able to create a fake story about how that planet is threatening mother Russia, and then whip up their sheeple into a frenzy over defensively invading it by allowing themselves to be cannon fodder for their fearless leader hiding in Moscow.

        Re: Space

They will probably invade the moon as soon as its government writes in their constitution that the moon will accede to NATO? Or does there also need to be a significant Russian speaking minority on the moon that helps them hang on to territorial gains in the long run?

Space shouldn't be about politics, but here we are, perpetuating the same inflated sense of Russian threat that so conveniently enables defense spending.

Take your fascist Banderite slogans elsewhere please.

I bet you are the sort of idiot that complained about Professor Musk's throwing-hearts action too.

Lordy - you’re like a more predictable Voice of Truth (Russia version). Be your own person - find some truth and beauty. A nationality doesn’t have to define you - you’re a cosmic being, free your mind. Wherever you are - I wish you well.

Wow! That video of him throwing hearts is nothing like the Nazi salute he did.

You are being downvoted for posting the truth. Scary.

Dmitry Bakanov may be young-ish and a reasonably administrator but he faces serious challenges here. Basically to "do space" is hard engineering and expensive. Following Putin's war in Ukraine they have lost a lot of talent to deal with the 'hard' aspect as those who can flee and those who can't end up as cannon fodder, as well as the sanctions seriously impacting on the 'expensive' aspect. Add to that the kleptocracy there and it is not a promising position to take up.

Having said that, the USA via Trump, and Musk in particular, are doing a good job of scaring existing and potential partners in any long-term programs so in a decade's time things might seem very different.

Russia doesn't have the money for a space program.

Maybe we can send them Musk to go and close that down for them?

Well, he hasn't had to leave the building via a 6th floor window, which is what normally happens to people who upset Putin.

Windows are much more Putin's style for internal dissidents. That, or hunting accidents or car crashes. You don't want to give the impression that you're hunting your own people inside your country. You may well be doing that, but you mustn't look it.

Traitors outside Russia get something plausibly deniable like polonium in their tea or novichok on their door handle - something which Russia can reasonably claim "wasn't me, guv", whilst everyone knows it was Russia because then everyone knows how traitors to Putin end up.

Might as well have the memorial service now, since the guy fell out of a window late February 2025. Straight onto a field of bullets.
