back to article Taiwan in talks to tap Amazon's Project Kuiper space broadband

Taiwan has started talks with Amazon regarding access to its Kuiper satellite broadband service. Cheng-Wen Wu, the minister responsible for Taiwan's National Science and Technology Council, on Tuesday reportedly told local media Kuiper is the most mature service of its sort, so he's discussing possible collaboration. That's …

hes either lazy, an idiot or bent

otherwise you'd commision all available providers at various degrees of involvement so your not wholly dependent on any and keep them on their toes

.implementing that is a lotta lotta extra work

my guess..... hes not an idiot, just lazy and bent!

ps sound like uk national and local council procurement Taiwanese style, but with just less bent and more laziness :)

Well, there's a chance that Bezos won't be going cutting off countries at a whim, and Bezos is entirely more mature than Musk, so I'll have to agree with that assessment.

That said, Starlink is operational, even if Musk blows a gasket now and then, so it might have made sense to go there first and negotiate with Kuiper when it actually gets off the ground.

This would make a lot of sense to me.

This would explain why bezos has been cozying up to want to be fascist American dictators, and giving them a lot of money to bail them out lately.

Taiwan knows musk is not only unreliable, probably compromised, but is also subject to the whims of power.

I would go with a third party myself, but bezos is probably much farther along at this point.

Why the hell would Taiwan do business with musk?

Damn, I hear you brother... it defies belief how far that idiot has fallen.

Part of me hopes Tesla is fucked and he's at least behaving this way to get favourable subsidies and tariffs on foreign competition. Otherwise he's just a deranged nut.
