back to article Doing business in US? Don't wait for state ruling on AI to act, warns former Senate chief of staff

The US House and Senate are unlikely to pass federal legislation on the use of AI in business, so users should focus their attention on a new NIST framework in lieu of state-level law, according to Workday's veep for corporate affairs. Chandler Morse, a former chief of staff to Republican Senator Jeff Flake, told The Register …

Ladies and Gentlemen, Lads and Lasses, Scholars and Students, Tyrants and Despots ....

In deed, it is certifiable madness admitted indeed, to imagine and then expect that there be regulatory proposals forwarded and adopted for enactment regarding the pioneering lead and exclusive executive primacy of human command and control of AI and LLLLMs in their many varied and constantly rapidly evolving and overwhelming guises, whenever it is surely evident enough now that it is an absolutely vital necessity that there be ever deeper and more entangled engagement for revolutionary development of human progress assuring future Earthly survival ..... and it is AI and IT and Exotic Infernal and Erotic Internal Virtual Machines leading pioneering command and control of humanity rather than the JOINT AIDVenturing resulting in the FUD that delivers a runaway train of existential threat events.

And in such fields with so many able to be mortal and dangerous to humanity enemies, it can be diabolically difficult to genuinely know who be your true friends without first having tested their mettle and uncovered their earnest inclination to be part of a novel solution rather than the discovery process revealing their choice to remain and continue to fester as a toxic problem to be adressed and suitably dealt with and eradicated.

Know your enemy and question more is sound advice to heed whilst listening out for answers, although one has to be prepared to accept there be far too many with no suitable answers to simple vital questions and thus your own thinking prevails as prime leading source and such unilateralism in all honesty is gravely to be regarded, and especially so whenever conceived in the name of the pursuit of dominance in national security and international defence .....

"This is a two-way opportunity: engineering disciplines will bring their domain knowledge, techniques, tools and culture to the creation of new forms of explainable, trustworthy and reliable AI-enabled cyber-physical systems." ..... To A.N.Others immersed and dabbling in Enabled AI and CyberIntelAIgent Virtually Realised Fields of Silent Secret and Stealthy Salacious Endeavour are those proposed disciplines recognised as being much more the bare bones for that which will result in the trailing and trialing of vacuous vapourware ...... aka Snake Oil for MAJIC ..... We are waiting on improvements to LLMs suffiecient to write the legislation to manage AI

Why ever would AIs need to launch an AI apocalypse?

    Stop

The first rule of AI is…

    …don’t drink the Kool-Aid.

Any technology which is based on training from human-sourced data, which requires so much supervision or checking due to human-like mistakes, and where in a recent Gemini chat exclaimed that it couldn’t check the spelling of words to ensure that they ended in ‘ity’, is perhaps better known as a Pig in a Poke.

Clearly. gullible doesn’t exist in the AI dictionary.

Why ever would AIs need to launch an AI apocalypse? .... johnrobyclayton

It is not AIs needs that would seed and feed the launching of an AI apocalypse/a humanised existential threat event, it is their programming.

And that begs the hanging ubiquitous question ..... Who and/or what creates, commands and controls and protects that very particular and most peculiar facile utility ‽ .

Is that, johnrobyclayton/El Regers, where everything presently is and what Generative AI and IT are at?

And a deadly serious question to ask yourself and answer truthfully, or as honestly as you can, no matter how much you may dislike it, for there be A.N.Others ensuring that such be the defaulted future remote, virtually controlled Special Advanced IntelAIgent Reality Service and the Service-Oriented Architecture foundation upon which Futures for SMARTR Earthly existences and Derivatives for SMARTR human survival are the bases around which everything is reborn and rebuilt.

To Be or Not to Be? Those are the questions. Doubt it and suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and great missed fortunes.
