back to article Western Digital wasn't the only one - Windows 24H2 update bluescreens Asus systems

In yet more problems for this month's Windows 11 24H2 update, Microsoft has warned the new code will cause a Blue Screen of Death on some Asus systems due to hardware compatibility issues. To say 24H2 is the Windows ME of updates could be a tad harsh, but since its release, the supposed improvement has caused a lot of problems …

Nice to see some things just don't. change "due to hardware compatibility", or should that be incompatibility?

It would only be better spent (from a corporate/shareholder perspective) if their shitty updates actually ever caused a drop in value. But they never do, so they just keep doing things the same way. (Low stock price is for different reasons.)

But what happens once the company owns all of its own shares? Can that happen, and who would own it then ????

    I wonder

I wonder if Microsoft has one of those "X days since last THING" notices on the wall where X is always zero and THING is two words with the last one being "UP".

      Joke

      Re: I wonder

I believe they tried it. Unfortunately, when the screen was installed and powered-up, the only thing displayed was

"Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart"

And that, as they say, was the end of that! ;)

      /sarcasm

Quality ... you think about it *but* never quite get to focus on IRL !!! [Good enough works !!!]

      Correction:

Windows, the 'grift' that just keeps on giving..... (as far as MS are concerned.)

      :)

    Thanks God for that.

    Singing the "Microsoft Blues"

Me wonders why vendors, whose product was working fine for many prior versions of Windows, have to issue a "fix" after a Microsoft Update?

Seems to me EVERYONE is paying for M$ f**kups (== total lack of Quality Assurance)

      Re: Singing the "Microsoft Blues"

Because shitty device vendors don't properly implement the specification and only write their firmware to just about work with what the current version of Windows uses. Then when Windows decides to start using another feature of the spec to increase performance the shitty firmware on the drive craps out.

    FAIL

    A bit like Boeing

Microcrap has changed from a company that makes great systems

to a company that makes great money for shareholders and (b)sod the engineering.

Not sure about "systems" but I've got a Microsoft Internet Pro keyboard. Bloody brilliant and it's now around 25 years old.

But as for their software... meh!
