“TSMC revenue up 36% as vacuous marketing nonsense demands AI and smartphone chips”

God, I’ll be happier when this whole “AI” shit is over with
Taiwan's semiconductor giant TSMC has reported a good third quarter with revenue up 36 percent over a year ago, due to strong demand from chip companies for smartphone and AI-related silicon. Nothing I do these days is AI based/augmented and I tend to get my phones used and with very basic tech. I'd still be using my old Moto phone, but the touch screen spazzes out and has a tendency to put the phone in airplane mode or needs power cycling to be able to be used. The problem is that if I try to fix it and mess it up, I have no phone so I have to get another phone. With another working phone it doesn't seem worth the effort to get the old one repaired since ... it's old. What boils my kettle is when I find a phone I like, check the IMEI with the provider's web site to make sure it works and once I get the phone, Surprise!, it won't work with their system and they claim "partial compatibility" which is saying between voice/text/data, only one or two will work. Grrrrr. New provider time and grief for the CSR.
