    So it's like MySQL storage engines?

    This sounds like MySQL storage engines for Team SQL. It makes sense to apply the same concept to Team NoSQL.

      my own in memory DB can do ~100m requests per second but then that's not over http/s

      Please only wheel that out when it is an actual standard we are talking about. This is just a new proprietary database.

    Similar YDB is years in production

    YDB is similar database, years in production. Storage separated from compute. Request Units billing and processing approach. 12PB of data managed by one cloud provider. Open source. Less supported data formats, but actively developing.
