That's what happens when you start being an unreliable supplier
Although NVidia has done its best to steer a path between the US government's restrictions and the customer base in China its being screwed over by the US because as soon as the Chinese start finding something useful our Gina will promptly ban it. No appeal. No questions. Just a diktat.
So we're stuck with a lose/lose. The Chinese government is merely saying that using NVidia's products is too risky so they should rely only on locally sourced ones. They're not going to be as good in the short term but as we've found out time and again, the operative term is "in the short term".
