I don't think it's going to burst for another 3 years minimum, not because of any sort of usefulness, but because this human-interaction-oriented tech (eg. sonorous models of language, synthetic amateur impressionism, ...) has a mesmerizing effect on our species, keeping us in a form of hypnotic trance for longer than an afternoon snack overstuffed with yummy sugary goodness and onctuously mouthwatering saturated lipids. It's like automated social media, without all of the other folks who can be finicky, mean, downvote you, etc ... most addictive!
In time, I expect we'll have to organize treatment for withdrawal symptoms, regulate the pushers, etc ... same as with any other psychoactive narcotics (just my 2 scents ... not a sentient expert)

Quite so! Once stimulated with a dose of awe from a new magnificious language model version, our biological reward system (mesocorticolimbic circuit) takes over, inducing the addictive positive feedback phase IMHO. The system's circuits eventually dull out, boredom sets in, and that version of the tech gets disfavored, until the next version provides a new (more potent) injection of awe ... rinse and repeat.
The LLM slingers probably have 3 good years of increased potency in store for us in my guesstimation. After that it's anyone's guess whether we'll be collectively overdosed, certifiably insane, or immunized, and can we tell the difference?

You want chips in 2025-2026? Place your order today. They are surprisingly a long-lead production time, so once the order goes in there is no option to cancel. From a revenue standpoint that all adds up to predictable sales.
If Tan says the future is going to be sunny, it is probably because he already has the orders in hand.
