      Heh, well, as we've seen (eg, Room 641A), US intelligence doesn't need a HQ to be near a facility of interest to do its thing.

      But sure, we can remind people the geography of that part of America.

    Well it would have been pretty easy to guess these

    You're either located near the consumers of that data (i.e. governments) or located where the electricity is cheap and plentiful (Oregon/hydro, Iowa/wind, etc.)

    Northern Virginia is AWS us-east-1 region

    which is the default AWS region, and where new services are deployed first, so it's not surprising to see that region over-represented in the figures.

    Why is Dublin #3 ?

    Ireland has the most expensive electricity in Europe. Seems like an odd place to build data centres whose biggest cost is energy, or am I missing something?
