You know what else they have lots of, compared to the "European hotspots of Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin" ?
Latency.
Datacentres are mostly built close to major population centres because that minimises latency to the users. Iceland is a great place to put latency insensitive workloads though. With a bit of work they could even dump the excess heat into the distributed hot water system instead of just heating the air.
