    ESG

I thought we had mostly eliminated this ESG nonsense. I guess there's more work to be done.

    Don't forget....

the awesome amount of connectivity, availability, redundancy, and sheer bandwidth available in Iceland. They're a hub for a large number of trans-Atlantic fiber cable systems.......

You know what else they have lots of, compared to the "European hotspots of Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin" ?

      Latency.

Datacentres are mostly built close to major population centres because that minimises latency to the users. Iceland is a great place to put latency insensitive workloads though. With a bit of work they could even dump the excess heat into the distributed hot water system instead of just heating the air.

Less then 15% of transatlantic cables and a fraction of bandwidth lands at Iceland. Don't get me wrong, its not awful and consumer internet if pretty good but its certainly not a hub.

if one of those volcanos there does not erupt and cover the place in 30 foot of lava

Check out the new walls around the blue lagoon power plant...... which will no help in the next eruption reaches the surface inside the walls...

      Don't worry

They already have an emergency plan. Written in lavascript.
