If they've haven't already gone to shit, they will now. HPE...graveyard of many a company. Didn't DEC end up there in a roundabout multiple takeover kind of way?

Didn't DEC offload all it's good networking gear, as well as storage and databases, to become small enough to be acquired by Compaq then HP; Then HP splits to become HPE which is in a lot of ways DEC, and now it's acquiring network gear.... It's all circles.

What choices are there left?

All this consolidation means just means higher prices and propbably worse support, especially as we're not supposed to use the Chinese made in China gear but are allowed to use the American made in China stuff.

We did our switches last year so we're okay for a couple of years but I'm not looking forward to the next round…

Great dreams from HP director Meg Whitman on 2015, but years passed and today tech way selected by actual HPE managerial is convert that company at a Switching company...Why ?? To compete HPE with powerful Cisco, many, many resources R&D will be focus in communications tech, that way is a nonsense path about total HP company history, yes circles + circles to get nowhere !!
