    Do they know it's 2024?

A strange announcement given that as of last month CentOS 7 and 8 are both end of life and CentOS as an Enterprise OS is now effectively dead, or at the very least pining for the fjords.

We are not talking about CentOS. The Chinese version is called CnOS. The new build has improved support for the state-sanctioned-bit-sequences capabilities. Also, It specifically prevents any bit-sequence referencing Pooh-bear related ones (the zeros are kept in place).

CentOS is FOSS. It can be forked. If someone is prepared to fork a project and maintain it the fork is still alive. The status of the original is of no relevance to the fork..

    A little (dis)ingenuity required

...as accessing resources inside China requires sending an image of an identity document that carries a user’s address

A little AI assisted graphical creation and your passport could have your being John Watson, residing at 221b Baker Street, Marylebone, London, NW1 6XE. ;)

    Icon for obvious reasons.
