The amount of funding that dribbled down was never large. For example, NLnet would grant EUR 50K if you were lucky, another EUR 50K, and that’s about it (yes, in theory you could get 10 grants but reading one of their reports most people got 1 grant, very few 2, and nobody more). And even this minuscule amount of funding is going to disappear?! Gah. Couple this with the pain of having to comply with all the regulations that are coming into force, and the EU really are shooting themselves in the foot.
