    Surely the patriotic telcos

Will be happy to eat the extra cost.

Unlike the evil communist traitor telcos that installed this commie gear to save money, the new patriotic telcos would be happy to forgo their bonuses to replace it with flag waving red-white-and-blue Apple pie kit.

If there's a security loophole, it can be guarded against without removing the equipment, just like any other equipment. if there isn't, the kit has already been paid for. Bloody well use it until it needs replacing because it's end of life or out of date.

    Bah! Humbug!
