    Don't Get Too Comfy

Companies who currently are "VMware Cloud Foundation customers", "strategic customer segment customers", and "Broadcom Advantage program partners” might take this as a kindly pat-on-the-back by Broadcom, but also may find to their dismay that their exalted status may be revoked with the stroke of a pen ("Customer-category re-org!").

Cheap training won't help them then.

It's not only Broadcom shareholders who care deeply about the next quarter

"his strategy is succeeding and will be reflected in revenue growing by double-digit percentage sequentially, quarter over quarter, through the rest of the fiscal year"

Such growth (sic) only from the _existing_ customer base? 2025 will be dire, then.

Enterprise C-level: What did we get for our 50% increase in virtualization cost?

Enterprise virt manager: They didn't take away our free training.

    Too Little, Too Late

We're already looking for alternatives to VMWare. The writing is on the wall.

I heartily recommend Proxmox. Any time I find a bit of a rough edge, i go “thank Murphy its not vmware” and count my blessings.

Yeah, Broadcom is accelerating the development of alternatives. Great business model!

I tried both Proxmox and XCP-ng and preferred XCP-ng, especially the current beta which has a lot of improvements. XCP-ng also has much better support for clustering.

Remember the 6 million dollar man.

He was supposed to be "faster, stronger, cheaper"... oh, uh, no, not cheaper.

How has "We can offer a more abysmal service for less money" become our defining goal?
