Broadcom has delivered on its 2023 teaser of integration between VMware's SD-WAN and Symantec's Security Service Edge, by today debuting the "VMware VeloCloud SASE, Secured by Symantec" at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Unanticipated interactions among the various security components mentioned, have the potential to create vulnerabilities that could lead to a breach in security.
Oh come now, that sort of thing has never happened before, especially not with Symantec software!
We used to use Symantec, when it was bought by broadcom support became more difficult and product improvements stopped. Although the support got better, the product had pretty much no improvements since then (years). I hold similar concerns for VMware. Did it get bought to Profit from, gain access to infrastructures around the world (CCP compliant), both? Will they continue to make it better or just keep it alive... Time will tell.
Oh, adding the word Symantec into the mix of VMware products is going to do wonders for VMware's image, not ! They've already removed almost 3000 staff from VMware and probably more to come outside of the US, they'll be loosing highly knowledgable staff from aggregators and partners who no longer qualify and now they want us to by f**king Symantec ! It's a laugh, it's like the kids are running the company.
