back to article Juniper sued over HPE buyout after allegedly ginning up execs' wallets

Juniper Networks, currently in the process of being acquired by HPE, has been accused of violating US securities laws in a shareholder lawsuit. The complaint [PDF], filed on behalf of plaintiff John Zaita in federal court in San Jose, California, alleges that Juniper's communications to shareholders about HPE's acquisition …

isnt this normal for HP ?

Buy a company, find they overpaid again then go after senior manglement who have stiffed the shareholders, staff while stuffing their wallets. ie normal modern business. It is not capitalism but typical of aristocratic run oligopolies.

This may well happen but it isn’t what this story says at all. This is an action kicked off by some Juniper shareholders.

And that said, a Juniper shareholder who clearly doesn't understand share classes. By the sounds of it, he just realised that as a public shareholder his shares are just there for funding, not for anything substantial. I'd love to see him get shares in Meta and try this on with the Zuck (who has shares with the vast majority of voting rights). :-)

    How many times ....

.... did the exec say AI? Didn't HP used to make LAN switches? So they are buying a router company? And how does that help AI? They may as well have said 'cloud' or 'orchestration' or some other buzzword they don't fully understand the nuances of.

I don’t know if they made switches, but I do know they acquired 3COM some years back. They also had Procurve, which I believe was also an acquisition. R&D died a long time ago and it was replaced capital venture $.

      Re: How many times ....

AI is being pushed within networking - in terms of monitoring, SDN etc...

And its HPE these days, not HP. Or, more specifically, HPE Aruba for their networking - which is an amalgamation of Aruba, Procurve, and 3Com stuff. They're just adding Juniper to that list to bulk up the AI networking offering.

They need to improve Aruba Cloud Central first though tbh. The entire solution is buggy, slow and a really weird UX.

Don't forget Colubris Networks and Silver Peak as part of the amalgamation too. Then HPE also has 49% stake in the networking vendor H3C.

The switch could ask ChatGPT where to route the packets rather than just use the routing table.

Silly investor. Doesn't he know the purpose of US corporations is to enhance the wealth of the CEO and his buddies on the exec team. HPE has been creating enormous wealth for CEO's since the days of Carly Fiorina.
