The way the article is written makes it sound like there is some sort of tech recession, but there are always companies that are either poorly run or performatively "cutting the fat" to please Wall Street. Yes Microsoft laid off 1,900 people. They'd also added 75,000 employees (a 50% increase) between 2019 and 2023.
What is sadly predictable is Elliott Asset Management appearing as a reason.
They are utterly despicable, like all these investment and wealth management organisations.
