back to article Working from home never looked better: Leopard stalks around Infosys and TCS campuses

Indian forestry authorities have laid traps for a leopard that was spotted prowling near campuses used by tech services giants Infosys and TCS. The beast was spotted yesterday in the Indore Super Corridor, a zone that boasts it “has been rated as the best destination to spend your entire life living in your dream home” as it …

Farnsworth: (on the phone) Oh, how awful. Did he at least die painlessly? To shreds, you say. Well, how is his wife holding up? To shreds, you say. Very well then. Sad, sad, terrible, gruesome news about my colleague, Dr. Mobutu.

    Leela: Was his apartment rent-controlled?

    Well I have to say

In all my years of consulting work, I've never had to worry about being attacked by a leopard making my way from the parking lot into the office!

Many years ago, all the employees in Education City, Doha, received an SMS message, warning them to stay inside the buildings as there was a tiger on the loose on the campus.

Some hours later, the all-clear was given.

Some further hours later, another SMS came, apologising for the fact that the original SMS was delayed by ONE DAY because the local telco assumed that it was spam, given the sheer volume of identical messages that arrived at the one time.

So yes, there was a tiger on the loose on the campus for a full day and no one knew!

A sharkproof suit apparently is a thing Neptunic Sharkproof Suit?

If it works against a decent sized shark's dentition (which I doubt) it should protect against the unwanted attention of Tiddles the leopard - not as though a leopard is 900kg tiger.

I suspect a tiger, shark or crocodile could chew the wearer to a pate consistency inside the suit.

An Alibaba listed knock off appears to have omitted the 'N' from red branding. :)

Since it has a bite force of 621.1 Newton I think you'd be better off with kevlar-backed full plate.. (11th highest bite force in the animal kingdom apparently).

(Plus, the teeth would go though the chain mail links and then split them apart unless they were proper riveted links. Which are by no means cheap).

And, unlike most cats, leopards are happy to eat meat that isn't fresh so even rolling in a week-old dead skunk won't save you!

    Cheetah

True story - a couple of years ago my uncle was in his garden and came across a cheetah. Carefully backed away, got inside and called the police. A few urgent enquiries later, it turns out the cheetah was being kept as a pet by someone in the neighborhood and it had decided to go walkies!

If it was wandering about outside it must have been slacking and not putting in its 70 hour week.

I look forward to a leopard making a guest appearance in a BOFH episode very soon

I'm sure that he could be put to good use among the beancounters.

Hello chaps, meet our new Morale Officer, name of Panthera Pardus. He's *very* keen to personally interview slackers..

He has a very... interactive technique. He's always happy with the results.

    Inspection Leopard

The buzz around Infosys is that the ol' man sent the leopard to check that the employees were working their 70 hour workweek, and not slacking off in the dense, cool jungle around the campus. Now it seems, no body will be seen slacking around the greenery soon.
