back to article Private lunar lander Peregrine mission's now measured in hours, not days

The Peregrine Mission One lunar lander has just hours of power left before its ambitious mission will be prematurely terminated. Having launched successfully on the first flight of the ULA Vulcan Centaur rocket, the spacecraft suffered an anomaly that appears to have significantly truncated the planned mission. Rather than …

    Soft Landing

The EMS is a project of The Open University. Perhaps they will learn to go with the Indian missions if they want a decent chance of a successful moon landing.

There's a world of difference between an instrument as part of a scientific payload and a lander.

IF only the OU had access to help from the Indian Space Agency 20 years ago.

Someone in NASA or US Gov likes Marketing

Common lines in Marketing textbooks etc:

    "Don't own the mill"

    "Out Source everything"

When you out source you lose control of design and quality.

The people you outsource to want to make a profit.

Also see Boing, sorry Boeing, Microsoft, Tesla etc for big USA company attitudes to regulation and quality control and testing.

Don't accept everything in text books written for the crayon dept. Some good advice and a lot of stupid opinions.
