Principles? She's heard of them. I'm actually surprised she survived even this mild level of criticism. Being a "yes man" (or woman) who pledges loyalty to these psychopaths is table stakes these days if you want to hold onto that sweet, sweet paycheck. Corrupt from the top down.

Why single out Meta?
The media is full of "pump this with Botox", "Fill it with collagen", "suck it out", "whiten it with bleach", "you're not orange enough!", "have as bigger bum", "have a smaller bum", "whatever size it it, it's wrong ..." and has been for many, many years. There were court case against magazines (remember those?) back in the day about the unnatural portrayal of women promoting eating disorders.
So why is Meta any different?

It's one thing to see *other* people who conform to nearly impossible beauty standards but it is another thing entirely to see pictures of YOU that are literally remade and adjusted to fit those standards.
And then you turn the phone off and the self-perceived fat, ugly loser in the mirror is still there... ( ╯︿╰ )

WeChat's been doing it for years
Photo editing is really popular on Chinese WeChat.
One thing I will say: doing it in software is definitely less risk than doing it in hardware (chemicals and surgery).
Maybe they should make software to simulate tattoos as well, so the kids don't have to get those for real?
