    Interesting. So, apparently the importance of a telecoms group is measured in megawatts.

    I didn't know that providing comm lines and routing for supporting smartphone users was so demanding energy-wise. Do those cell towers use that much power ?

      Broadcasters in the US are licensed by radiated power in watts, so I imagine that's the sum total of their licenses?

      Most of my co-workers are 40 watts or less.

      Edit: and this is a lower limit, since it's radiated power and doesn't include things like backhaul to the tower itself and other needs.

        still does not make any sense unless they are talking about the power consumed by (or available for computers in) data centres as it mentions the cash will be spend on expanding them.
