    Even if that's the case

    They would have deliberately left that story out there for a few days before issuing this denial, presumably as a warning to the US that two can play at that game if they keep increasing pressure on China's tech industry.

    The delay might have had to do with waiting until the US government commented on it.

    All that kowtowing to the Chinese to exploit the slave labour has paid off so well for them in the end. They may have made some good profits but now the chickens come home to roost and they get to see how they are going to be treated. Too bad so sad they will have to move on to the next up and coming slave labour country to work around it. Enjoy your interesting times Apple, the Chinese know how to do it well they have thousands of years of practice at it.
