    I did have a minimal CC subscription for a while as I needed something that the software I normally used didn't have. Then, I found a pay-once solution that more suited my wallet. Screw the greedy bastards, I hope they lose subscribers by the millions.

    So glad I stopped with Adobe at CS6 and didn't step onto the rental treadmill. I'm not being held to ransom and can still get my work done.

    ...and they wonder why Adobe piracy is rampant. That said, you can still get competent replacements, e.g. the Affinity range of products (and no, I don't work for them or have any connection with them). A couple of years ago on Youtube, photographer Joe Cristina did his 'Cutting the Cord' series of videos on how to find good replacements for Adobe products.

    The monthly rate is close on Affinity's lifetime costs.

    For 90% of Adobe users, Affinity will do the job.
