Here is to more nations succeeding where others, even those who, supposedly, have the technology, often fail. Doubles for having the balls to get attempt 2 approved and working when attempt 1 suffered a slight impact with Luna. -->

So many nations have been influenced by science and flown to the Moon ... but after a few years every nation's politicians have seen getting elected as far more important. The nations aren't failing, they are just administered by drinkers with political problems ... eventually I hope that every nation will change and just be happy to work with every other nation to make us become a famous human planet in the Universe.

SOHO is an ESA spacecraft, and nine of the twelve instruments at launch (some have been shut down since, due to degradation of detectors or thermal issues over more than two decades of operation of hardware designed for 2 to 6 year lifetimes) had European principal investigators. The launch was provided by NASA, and spacecraft and science operations take place at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. In all, an outstanding example of international cooperation.
