back to article Miscreants leak texts and info siphoned by Android stalkerware app LetMeSpy

It's bad enough there's some Android stalkerware out there with the not-at-all-creepy moniker LetMeSpy. Now someone's got hold of the information the app collects – such as victims' text messages and call logs – as well as the email addresses of those who sought out the software, and leaked it all. The stolen data has been …

    Parental control ?

If you're a parent and you use this "tool", you fail at parenting.

Re: "a tool for parental and employee control"

A tool named "LetMeSpy" might be capable of parental control but has a reputation of being "spouseware" or "stalkerware".

It's not just parenting that's being failed here

That ruling by the Supreme Court is really messed up.

Well at least it's good to know that we can now send 1000's of messages to the various Justices, with the words "Fuck off and die!" and they will happily ignore them, as clearly it doesn't meet the "True-threat" standard....

    Insanity...

Does anyone know if there's any trojan stalkerware out there?

Say Eve installs a spying app on Alice's phone and signs up to the web site to receive updates, but then gets a message that it's not supported or something. Instead ALICE gets notified about what Eve is trying to do AND gets the option to get info from HER phone instead? Because that would be the ultimate payback for this kind of behaviour.

    Big Brother icon, because obvious.

You don't hear much about portmanteau nominative determinism. I wonder if she every worked with Jeff Larcenyucky.
