In other words, a company that invented nothing itself, but bought patents for the sole purpose of sueing any other company that might have something slightly similar.

fabless chip company puts them in the same league as architects - design but don't build.

I wouldn't trust a builder to build a house without any plans; an architect would be the best person to make those plans.

Plenty of companies just design stuff and outsource the manufacture. That's just the modern business world.

And Apple, and Nvidia, and Qualcomm, and so and so on. The only chip companies that have fabs (at least on or near the leading edge) are Intel and Samsung.

Sounds like he'll need a few reams of paper to print off the list of companies that are patent trolls using his criteria!

Tough tactics

Those are some tough business tactics that's for sure. A bit shady but *shrug* that's another good reason to try to legislate patent trolls out of existence IMHO.

Glad to see these firms spending money on litigation

And not frittering it away on IT security, employing competent driver developers, and so on.
