China's State Council last week announced an extension of tax breaks for vehicles powered by alternative energy. China is already the world's largest market for electric vehicles, according to the International Energy Agency, which asserts it accounts for 60 percent of sales. One to watch

    China's automotive industry is MASSIVE, already making inroads at least in Europe with ICE vehicles... if they can stop the catastrophic fires (which they no doubt will)... they could be a serious threat to established brands. Unless the government makes up some spurious crap and bans them from the market.. cough cough huawei

      I know two people that have the electric MG's and both say it's the best car they have ever owned.

        Yep, an affordable electric MGB would be wonderful for all those who don't find tuning twin-carbs fun!

        BTW I was impressed the electric enthusiastic Norwegians featured two pristine MGBs in 'Afterglow' (BBC4's latest Saturday night Scandi).

      China's transition to electric vehicles is so successful, they are going to have to open dozens more coal fired power stations to charge them.

        Feel free to search by per capita and you'll see China is way down the list of co2 polluters

        https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/co-emissions-per-capita?tab=table

        Add in how many Nuclear, hydroelectric, wind and solar plants they have built recently are under construction and it puts most of the world to shame.

          -> per capita

          Amen. Those people who deliberately mislead others (fake news?) practically never mention the population of China vs that of the USA.

            The atmospheric effects of CO2 don't give a fuck about how much per capita, that's just a Chinese misdirection.
