    Cost of disruption

    Even with proper backups and a decision to simply install from clean media and restore after your data was enrcypted will make the IT infrastructure unavailable and disrupt the normal operation.

    I think this business disruption if the biggest problem for companies but these costs are rarely mentioned.

      I read the headline and thought effectively the same thing - "It's almost like it's becoming cheaper to invest in security to prevent the attack in the first place. Who'da thunk?"
