    Wait, what?

    The same China that makes companies that operate cloud services inside their country store the data on Chinese servers with keys controlled by Chinese companies? In the rest of the world your iCloud backups can use a key that you alone control so that even if there's a court order Apple cannot produce the contents. Pretty sure that option is unavailable in China. Maybe Apple should take them at their word and enable that, and see how long it takes before they say "that's not the security and privacy we meant!"

      Two wrongs don't make a right. Even though, yes I do see the irony in that.

      Just because one scummy company blatantly disregards a customers privacy and security, doesn't mean another scummy company can. The same goes for if those companies are thin disguises around international spying (from all sides).

      Though honestly the only blame really goes to the consumers who keep buying this criminal landfill junk.

        Zheng Shanjie and the whole CCP are getting too big for their britches, and someone needs to smack them down.

        You can't appease a dictator, but you sure can do business with him up to a point. Then, wow! No more contracts for Hitler!

    So apple all worried about blinky things sold out the entire country Taiwan. So, Disney, control Apple, What's next for the would be dictator of earth, IBM, HP, nah, thats to small. I bet they take over goog next.
